Fierce Kristen

  • Jan. 22nd, 2009 at 8:43 PM
As I was searching the web I found one of this gossip blogs, always making fun and offending everyone (I actually love those blogs! Shallow me...) and I found this comment on Kristen Stewart, who attended the sundance movie festival. They actually were saying how tallented and sexy she is! I mean, a gossip blog! It made my day xD

When I first saw the Twilight trailer I thought "OMG she sucks! She has nothing to do with Bella." But when i watched the movie my impression totally changed! "She is good! And she is Bella! Maybe she is more Bella than Robert is Edward."

Then I started watching some other movies that featured her.
Firstly Panic Room, which is an okay movie and proved that I wasn't wrong about her. She is a good actress!
Then I tried In the land of women, with Adam Brody. A soft drama in which she plays a teenager a little disturbed. She even gets to kiss Adam after Med Ryan (who plays her mother in the movie xD).
More recently I watched Fierce People, which I TOTALLY loved! She plays this rich girl who falls for the son of a massausse (is that how it's written? lol). It's a really good movie about "tribes" and the lifes of the wealthy with all the sex, drugs and even sexual scandals (like a rape!).

In Panic Room

In Fierce People

In The Land of Women

In Twilight

Alice - The vampire lovebird

  • Jan. 21st, 2009 at 8:04 PM

Here she is, Alice. Not her best photo...But it was the only one I had available in this computer.

About 10 minutes ago she kicked my boyfriend out of my house by biting his neck. I guess that she really is a vampire.

She's all about biting and bloody bruises!  Oh, and she also has this bizarre fetiche with the computer keyboard: in less than 10 seconds she can take off about 3 letters off of the keyboard. Yeah, that technopat!

Sometimes she can be sweet. Like when she's afraid, or when she wants to get out of her cage (to chew off some fingers!). She loves to hang around the top of my head and my shoulder (I have to be really careful, or she will certainly bite my ears...).

She is having her dinner right now, better not disturb her! :p

(She really drives me nuts whith her "charismatic personality" but I woulnd't trade for anything).

Next time I'll talk about my dogs.

The Naming of Cats

  • Jan. 20th, 2009 at 6:20 PM

I live in a flat/apartment. Sometimes I feel the need to go down and walk around the buildings.
I see very interesting stuff.
As I said before, I really love animals. Near here there is a group of shy cats. I think people like them around since i'm not the only one that feeds them (yeah, I know that I shouldn't do that...But hey, don't judge me...They are nice cats!)

Today I went to give them a little "proteiny" treat (aka meat, cats need loads of protein in their diets! lul). I usually visit a smaller group that lives right beneath my building but they weren't there so I went a little further. Well, it was amazing how they smelled the food right away. A group of about 6 cats appeared. I think they enjoyed the meal.

You might think that talking about this is lame (i live alone with a lovebird okay?), but animals are a huge part of my life: soon i will become a vet! hooray!  (not that soon...unfortunately...still 2 years from that...)

One of those cats made me recall this poem by T. S. Elliot - The Naming of Cats

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
   It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, or George or Bill Bailey -
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter -
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum -
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
   And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover -
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
     His ineffable effable
     Effanineffable
 Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

This is why I am naming those cats!

First of all, and specially to my future readers (the ones that i won't have ^^), i apologize for my terrible english writing and for my bad jokes.
Let's start with some introductory notes:

1. Why Turreann? Well, I'm all about animals! Cats, dogs, birdies, ruminants. All but centipedes. I'm not very fond of reptiles either, but I can still be around them. I just really don't like centipedes. Oh, as I was saying: Tureann (or Turrean) was a beautiful celtic goddess turned into a Irish Wolfhound by a evil and jealous faery queen.

2. I am portuguese (Cristiano Ronaldo? Remember? That small country which is not part of Spain?) and I haven't attended english classes since i've graduated from high school (which was about three years ago) so, i'm not as fluent as i used to be. But I hope everyone understands me ^^

3. I am never lucky enough to have people reading my stuff (or maybe my writing sucks...yeah, i know it does) so, i don't expect that this time it turns out to be different. Tough, I will be very sad...But I'll eventually cope with that! xD

Wish you all the best!
